Part of the new railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran is still not put into operation - ADB

Almaty. May 13. Silkroadnews - Part of the new railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran is not yet put into operation, reported KazTAG, citing Senior representative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Turkmenistan Serdar Charyev.
According to him, the ADB is "working closely with the government to resolve any outstanding issues and assists in the implementation of the project".
According to the website of the bank, in 2012 the Bank provided more than $100 million to design, supply, installation and commissioning of the power supply, signaling system and telecommunications equipment on the site Chilmammet-Buzhun in Turkmenistan with the length of 288,2 km, at the building railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran. Contractor of the project in the framework of the ADB tender in May 2012 gave a consortium of companies consisting of Kazakh ASPMK-519 and Indian KEC International Limited.
At the moment, according to the website, the date of closure of the project moved from September 2014 to September 2015.
