Payment service providers not to operate without NBT license in Tajikistan since April

Beijing. March 12. Silkroadnews - Payment service providers will not be allowed to operate without a license from the country’s National Bank in Tajikistan starting from this April, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Monday.
The National Bank of Tajikistan has extended the period for suppliers of payment services to get appropriate authorization document by regulatory agency till the end of March. According to the law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On payment services and payment system” adopted a year ago, by March 28, 2018, all the operators of the payment system had to get a license to carry out their activities on the territory of the republic, the NBT reports.
So far, as noted, the most of the operators of the payment system have provided the regulator with due documents to get a license.
According to the new legislation, the commercial companies taking payments through the self-service terminals must enter into agreements with credit institutions and act as bank payments agents.
