Petrovietnam is to start exploration drilling in Uzbekistan in 2015

Tashkent. May 14. Silkroadnews - Petrovietnam Exploration and Production (PVEP) is to start exploration drilling in North-Western region of Ustyurt (Uzbekistan) in 2015.
The operating company has announced a tender for 3D seismic survey in the area. The exploration drilling will start once the seismic survey is completed early next year, as Kossor Operating Company informs via message distributed this Tuesday at “Oil Gas Uzbekistan- 2014” exposition that opened in Tashkent.
PVEP and UzbekNefteGaz National Holding Company have signed an agreement in February 2010. It stipulated basic principles of geological exploration for the next 5 years at Kossor Investment Block. The seismic survey and testing of well #1 has already been completed by now. The well is 4014 metres deep.
The drilling resulted in release of non-industrial gas. Thus, it was decided to continue geological exploration at Kossor. USD 45 mln will be invested in exploration of this area by the end of 2015.
