Physicians in Uzbekistan shall pass mandatory certification

Almaty. February 1. Silkroadnews – Physician working in medical institutions of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan shall now pass a mandatory certification to check job competence compliance, the Uzbek news agency (UzTAG) informs.
The corresponding decree № 14 of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted on January 21, 2016. The document approves the regulations defining the procedure of certification of physicians to check their job competence compliance.
Certification of physicians is obligatory and shall be held every five years. Physicians with a valid qualification category in the relevant specialty are not subject to certification. The examination boards are established by the Ministry of Health.
Doctors first recruited in the specialty after graduating from the undergraduate, graduate, clinical internship or courses of primary specialization are to pass the certification three months after the expiration of three years of work in the relevant specialty at the latest.
The document also defines the categories of doctors not required to pass the certification. Among them are those who have at least 5 years of experience in the specialty, pregnant women and women on leave for child care, as well as physicians with a valid qualification category in the relevant specialty.
