Poland and Iran agreed to cooperate in the field of oil production

Almaty. May 25. Swilkroadnews - "Polish oil and gas company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) on joint work in the oil field on the island of Lavan, which is located in the territorial waters of Iran in the Persian Gulf", -  reported Trend.
According to the manager of the Polish PGNiG Bohuslav Sozansky, the company also signed an agreement with the Iranian offshore Oil Company (IOOC).
At the same time, the Polish company is considering investing in a project to develop the deposit $1 billion.
According to the manager, PGNiG, 75% owned by the Government of Poland, began to cooperate with Iran in 2007. Later this cooperation has been suspended due to imposed economic sanctions against Iran.
Western sanctions against Iran should be removed after the signing of a comprehensive agreement between Tehran and the "six" of international mediators (the US, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany), which will be achieved by 30 June.
