Almaty. July 21. Silkroadnews –  Almost 50% of their income poor people in Kyrgyzstan spend on health care services, KyrTAG reports.

“We saw people should pay more for health care. A fifth part of population spends 43% of their money on health services. We need to think about the reforms we can make, we have some suggestions. We understand the country is not rich, but we would like you to have better access to health care”, the head of the World Health Organization in Kyrgyzstan Jarno Habicht said at the meeting of the Development Partners Coordination Council under the Government of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek on Thursday.

He noted that Kyrgyzstan “has lost 20 years for reforms”.

“Yet, if compare 2009 and 2014, we see the households’ incomes increased by 14%”, he added.

“You have a need for obligatory investments. There are sources that are already available, there are partners bringing investments. We can build good medical centers for the Kyrgyz people to have good access to health care services”, he stressed.
