Poroshenko announced beginning of Ukraine’s withdrawal from CIS

Beijing. April 13. Silkroadnews - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko instructed the cabinet to start the procedure of Ukraine’s official withdrawal from the constituent bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports.
“Considering the fact that Ukraine has never been and is not now a member of the CIS, as well as the refusal of the body to condemn Russian aggression, I would like to ask the government to prepare proposals on the official termination of our membership in the constituent bodies of the CIS, as well as on the final closure of the Ukrainian representation at the relevant bodies in Minsk,” P.Poroshenko said at the XI Kiev Security Forum.
The president reminded that all the legal framework of the CIS, which was signed by Ukraine, should be reassesed taking into account its compliance with the national interests of the country.The CIS was founded by the heads of the RSFSR, Belarus and Ukraine on December 8, 1991 in Belovezhskaya Pushcha (Belarus). The organizational stage was completed in 1993, when the CIS charter was adopted, which Ukraine did not ratify.
Today, the CIS includes 9 countries Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova.
Ukraine and Turkmenistan are associated members of the Commonwealth.
