Almaty. July 10. Silkroadnews – The President of Afghanistan insists on increasing investments into water resources, despite Iran’s fears, the Afghan news agency Khaama Press reports.
“President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said the Afghan government intends to invest more to control the water resources of Afghanistan in the interests of the country. With this, however, the Iranian authorities are concerned that the construction of dams in Afghanistan could negatively affect the water supply of their country”, the report said.
Ghani said, water resources will contribute to the country’s development, especially its agricultural sector, thus, government will invest to build the dams.
