President of Kyrgyzstan signed law on ADB agreement ratification for “Toktogul Rehabilitation Phase 3” project

Almaty. July 3. Silkroadnews – President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev signed the law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On ratification of Financing agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under “Toktogul Rehabilitation Phase 3” project, signed in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on December 13, 2016”, KyrTAG reported.
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 25, 2017.
The agreement primary goal is to strengthen the energy security of the Kyrgyz Republic through the reconstruction of the Toktogul HPP, raising each unit capacity up to 60 MW; project realization also ensures works to be carried out on rehabilitation of engineering structures and system for dams monitoring.
The law to come to force ten days after the day of its official publication.
Earlier  the ADB reported to allocate $50 million as a grant and $60 million as a loan on “Toktogul Rehabilitation Phase 3” project.
