Almaty. December 25. Silkroadnews - President of South Africa Jacob Zuma will be offered to resign by the ruling party of the country, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to Kommersant.
Referring to the South African newspaper CityPress and anonymous sources, the statement said, in the near future the country’s ruling party African National Congress (ANC) will recommend the President of South Africa J. Zuma to resign.
According to sources, the ANC began to discuss the possibilities for J.Zuma’s peaceful resignation when last week the president left the ANC Secretary General post. The new head of the party is vice-president Cyril Ramaphosa, who defeated Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Jacob Zuma’s ex-wife, in inner-party elections.
In summer, a scandal broke in South Africa after J. Zuma nominated his ex-wife for the post. Critics say, J. Zuma’s desire to escape responsibility was behind his intention to support his ex-wife in the primaries. Both opposition and ANC’s members accuse him of corruption, fraud and embezzlement. In August, Jacob Zuma has narrowly survived a motion of no confidence against him in parliament.
