President of Turkmenistan noted the confidence among the Caspian littoral states

Almaty. March 12. Silkroadnews - Turkmenistan and Iran are actively involved in negotiations on the legal status of the Caspian Sea, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani in Ashgabat, reported Trend.
"On the basis of the initiatives put forward by the two countries formed reliable legal framework and governing relations between the Caspian states in various spheres", - noted the Turkmen leader.
According to him, developing new forms of mutually beneficial cooperation in the Caspian region in the areas of security, emergency, economic, trade, transport and communication, the environment and other important areas, which leads to confidence-building between the riparian countries, creating favorable conditions for their mutually dialogue.
In turn, H.Rouhani said that a separate topic of the talks was the multifaceted cooperation in the Caspian Sea.
"This is a sea of ​​peace, friendship and brotherhood between the Caspian states, and Iran intends to develop relations in this field through international legal mechanisms, both within the exploitation of resources of the sea, and in the field of navigation", - said the president of Iran.
With an emphasis on compliance with international environmental standards, the Iranian leader said that cooperation in the environmental field has a great importance for both countries.
