President of Turkmenistan signed decree to pardon more than 1.5 thousand convicted

Almaty. October 24. Silkroadnews – In honor of Independence Day (October 27) President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov signed a decree to pardon convicted persons, the Turkmen government reports.
According to the decree the pardoned are exempt from further serving of the main sentence and additional sentence in the form of imposing the duty to reside in a particular area.
Thus, 1523 citizens are released from the places of confinement to return home before the holiday.
The heads of the local administrations have been instructed to take measures for the employment of pardoned citizens.
