President of Uzbekistan is in critical condition, Uzbekistan's Cabinet says

Almaty. September 2. Silkroadnews – Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov is in critical condition, the BBC Russian office reports.

«With a sore heavy heart to inform you that in the past 24 hours our President's condition saw a sharp deterioration and is considered critical by the doctors», the government statement says.

To remind, on August 28 the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan reported the President I. Karimov has been hospitalized and «a full medical examination and after-treatment will take a certain period of time». On August 29 the daughter of the head of state Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva wrote that her father was hospitalized as «suffered a brain hemorrhage» and «is in the intensive care unit».

I. Karimov, 78-year-old, has been a leader of Uzbekistan since 1989.

The day before the Russian-speaking news edition of Central Asia «Fergana» reported that the homeland of Islam Karimov, Samarkand, is getting ready for leader's funeral.
