President of Uzbekistan suffered brain hemorrhage; his condition is stable

Almaty. August 29. Silkroadnews – President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has suffered a brain hemorrhage; his condition is stable, the president's daughter Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva said.

«Because of a brain hemorrhage, which happened on Saturday morning, he was hospitalized and is in the intensive care unit. His condition is stable. At the moment, it is too early to make any forecasts about his condition in the future», Lola Karimova wrote in her accounts in Instagram and Facebook.

Earlier the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan reported that Islam Karimov is in hospital for in-patient treatment. According to the experts, a full medical examination and after-treatment will take a certain period of time.

I. Karimov, 78-year-old, has been a leader of Uzbekistan since 1989. Earlier he was expected to take part in celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence to be held in Tashkent on September 1.
