Presidents of Tajikistan and Afghanistan agreed on extradition issues

Almaty. May 12. Silkroadnews – President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani signed an agreement “On extradition”, Afghan news agency (AfTAG) reports.

In their statement, two leaders said they “spoke for further expansion and deepening of the Tajik- Afghan cooperation in all the areas, including economic sector and security.”

The parties agreed the top level meetings shall be carried out at least twice a year.

The presidents paid considerable attention to CASA-1000 regional project implementation.

“This is a project bringing together people of the countries of the region: Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. The next project, which is also aimed to unite our people, is about the regional railway construction,” the Afghan leader said.

Also during the talks held in the capital of Tajikistan the heads of the states pointed to the necessity of fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking, which is one of the main sources of financing for terrorists.
