Prime Minister of Afghanistan and Mike Pence discussed U.S. strategy in Afghanistan
Almaty. November 20. Silkroadnews - On Friday in Washington Afghan Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah and the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence discussed the U.S. Afghan strategy, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
Both sides stressed the need to expand the ties between countries.
Afghan Prime Minister expressed the gratitude to the U.S. for helping the Afghan government and the people and noted Afghan authorities support a new strategy in Afghanistan, TOLO channel reported.
In his turn Mike Pence said the U.S. is satisfied with its new Afghan strategy and expects its to bring positive results. He also highly appreciated the Afghan security forces’ operation in fight against terrorism and assured that his country would continue to render support to Afghan security forces.
Among the other issues on the agenda there were the situation in the region, elections in Afghanistan and fighting corruption.
