Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Afghanistan

Almaty. May 12. Silkroadnews – During his working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov has met with the Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah, KyrTAG reports.

The key issues of Kyrgyz-Afghan cooperation were discussed during the meeting. The parties have also noted the importance of implementation of the CASA-1000 project and other projects in the sphere of transport communication.

S. Jeenbekov emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s interest in development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as outlined the role of Afghanistan in maintaining peace and security in the region.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the government of Afghanistan for its support of ethnic Kyrgyz people living in Afghanistan.

S. Jeenbekov invited A. Abdullah to take part in the opening ceremony of the Second World Nomad Games to be carried out in Kyrgyzstan in September 2016.
