Provincial police senior officials to be rotated in Afghanistan
Beijing. 11 April. Silkroadnews - The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan will carry out personnel reshuffles in the subordinated structures, in particular, replace the senior officials of the provincial police, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
Wais Barmak, minister of interior, have recently told about the prospects of changes and replacements in the police leadership. According to the minister, the reshuffle will be carried out within the framework of the planned reform and is expected to affect 30 out of 34 country’s provinces.
To remind, last December when taking his post of minister Barmak noted the need to restructure its department, introducing more stringent discipline and counteracting corruption offenses.
It is expected that, in accordance with the reform program, the posts of the chiefs of provincial police should be received by younger and more educated employees of the Ministry of Interior. The administration of the department hopes the coming changes will allow the police to be more efficient in stabilizing the situation on the ground.
