Almaty. October 23. Silkroadnews - Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the International Discussion Club "Valdai" suggested a number of measures to address the situation in Syria and the fight against terrorism, reported the press service of the Russian Federation.
"First of all it is necessary to liberate the territory of Syria and Iraq against terrorists and prevent them from moving their activities to other regions. And for this it is necessary to unite all the forces: the regular army of Iraq and Syria, the Kurdish militia forces, various opposition groups ready to actually make a real contribution to the defeat terrorism, to coordinate the actions of regional and extra-regional countries that oppose terror",- quoted Putin's press Service in a statement posted on the Kremlin website.
He noted that the joint anti-terrorism activities must be "based on international law".
"Second. The collapse of the official authorities in Syria only mobilizes terrorists. Now we need not to undermine but to revive, strengthen public institutions in the zone of conflict", - said Putin.
According to him, fundamental importance has the involvement in the process of political settlement of the Muslim clergy, leaders of Islam, the heads of Muslim states.
"We look forward to their consolidated position and assistance on their moral authority. We need to clearly draw the line between true Islam, which values - a world family, good deeds, help your neighbor, respect for tradition, and the lie hatred, which sow the militants under the guise of Islam", - said the head of the Russian Federation.
The fourth point, he said, is the need to work out the "road map" for economic and social revival of the region.
"It is clear that Syria will require large-scale financial, economic, humanitarian aid, in order to heal the wounds of war. We need to specify the format in which we could conduct this work with the assistance of donor countries, international financial institutions ", - said the president.
As Putin noted, "Syria could become a model for partnership in the name of common interests".
"Now it is important to draw the right lessons from what happened in the past, and move forward. I am confident that the experience we have accumulated, and the very current situation will allow us to finally make the right choice - a choice in favor of cooperation, mutual respect and trust, the choice in favor of peace", - concluded the head of the Russian Federation.
