Almaty. May 23. Silkroadnews – Restrictions are removed on currency conversion to euro for Iran, Director General of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Political and International Affairs Department Hamid Baeedinejad stated, IrTAG reports.

“Restrictions on Iran’s banking transactions in euros have been removed,” H. Baeedinejad said.
To confirm he referred to India’s conversion of $750 million euro to pay its outstanding oil debt to Iran via the Turkish bank.

Indian companies continued to import the Iranian oil after introduction of sanctions against Iran in 2012. They used to pay 45% of “black gold” price in rupees and could not carry out payments in the US dollars. Over the years the total amount of their debt accumulated to Iran has made $6.5 billion.
