Rouhani and Ban Ki-moon discussed the progress of negotiations on the nuclear program and the situation in the Middle East

Tehran. September 24. Silkroadnews - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
The talks, which took place in New York, were issued at Iran's nuclear program and the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and the representatives of the international "six" intermediaries, which includes Russia, the United States, Britain, France, China and Germany.
Ban Ki-moon called on Iran to show in this issue, "the flexibility and ingenuity" to create a solution that is satisfactory to all parties.
UN Secretary-General also pointed to the important role of Iran in combating the spread of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East. In particular, he called on Iran to "engage constructively" in tackling the challenges facing the bordering Iraq, expressing appreciation for the Iranian leadership to promote "a more representative government in Baghdad."
In addition, the Secretary General called for greater involvement of Iran in crisis in Syria and Afghanistan.
In turn, the Iranian president called for UN Secretary-General to make every effort in order to create a fertile ground for reaching a final agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, which would take into account the interests and rights of all parties.
