Russia and Iran signed a memorandum to increase the number of flights

Almaty. February 12. Silkroadnews - Russia and Iran signed a memorandum on increase the number of flights up to 28 per week, IrTAG informs.
“The designated carriers from each party will have the right to carry out a maximum of 28 return flights per week on any type of aircraft for the carriage of passengers according to the schedule of flights and destinations as specified in the agreement,” – the memorandum of understanding in the air traffic field between the aviation authorities of Iran and Russian Federation states.
The air charter carriers of each side can carry passengers after receiving the approval from the aviation authorities of two countries. The flight approval for the charter flights shall be submitted by the airline to the aviation authorities in five working days prior to flight.
The document states the flights from the Russian Federation can be carried out to Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Rasht and three other cities at the discretion of the Iranian side.
Flights from Iran to Russia will be carried out to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Kazan, Ufa, Sochi and one more city at the discretion of the Russian aviation authorities to be approved later.
At the moment the Russian side carries out flights to Tehran four times a week via “Aeroflot” airline, the Iranian side performs flight once a week with “Iran Air” airline. With the summer schedule of 2016 the Iranian charter airline “Mahan Air” will perform flights to Sochi.
