Russia and Iran signed agreement on simplified customs corridor

Almaty. May 23. Silkroadnews – The head of Russia’s Federal Customs Service Andrei Belyaninov and head of Iran’s Customs Administration Masoud Karbasian met in Iran on May 16, the press service of the Federal Customs Service reported.

“During the meeting the sides signed the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs issues (updated according to the changes in the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union); protocol on swapping of preliminary information regarding the organization of goods and vehicles transported between Russia and Iran (“Simplified customs corridor”); protocol on swapping of information on the customs value of goods crossing the border; plan on development of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the customs sector for 2016-2017,” the customs service report says.

The sides also discussed the issues of the “North-South” international transportation corridor and cooperation within the framework of personnel training and retraining on the basis of the Russian Customs Academy, as well as the issues of implementation of the memorandum on swapping of the statistical data.
