Russia and Tajikistan hold military exercises near Tajik-Afghan border
Beijing. March 16. Silkroadnews - Around two thousand troops are taking part in the Russian-Tajik exercises drills at the Kharbmaydon firing range, 15 km from the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports citing the statement by the assistant to the commander of the troops of the Central Military District, Colonel Yaroslav Roshchupkin.
The major stage of joint command-and-staff exercises with of the Russian and Tajik armed forces has completed at the Kharbmaydon firing range, 15 kilometers from Tajikistan’s border with Afghanistan. The exercises have been hold to work a joint operation to combat illegal armed groups, taking into account the operations in Syria. Around two thousand troops and more than 400 technical vehicles have been involved.
