Russia and Uzbekistan signed a number of documents on the development of bilateral relations
Almaty. December 11. Silkroadnews - Government of Uzbekistan and Russia signed a series of documents aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and the development of trade and economic cooperation. The document was signed in the presence of the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov, informs Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
In particular, the two governments signed an agreement on the settlement of mutual financial claims and liabilities of $865 million, an agreement on the main directions of development and deepening economic cooperation in 2015-2019. Foreign Ministries of the two countries signed a cooperation program for 2015.
Federal Service for Drug Control (FDCS) and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan signed a protocol on the exchange of research results in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized from illegal trafficking.
Speaking about the talks in narrow format with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Putin said that they exchanged views on a wide range of issues. The Russian president said that Moscow values the high level of mutual understanding and trusts Uzbekistan. Islam Karimov, in turn, stressed that the majority of issues on the bilateral agenda evaluation of the two presidents "are similar or identical".
In addition, Russia and Uzbekistan agreed on consultations over the possible signing of the agreement between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) free trade zone.
