Almaty. September 15. Silkroadnews - Russia is ready to build 8 power plants in Iran, reported ITAR-TASS.
"According to the Minister of Energy of Iran Hamid Chitchyan four stations will be built in the area of ​​the southern port of Bandar Abbas, two - in the city of Tabas in the east of the country, and two - in Sahende in northwestern Iran", - said in a statement.
H. Chitchyan informed that Russian companies have to submit their proposals for the construction of power plants in 1 month.
"Russian expressed their willingness to design and build a power plant with a total capacity of 2.8 megawatts", - quoted the minister.
H. Chitchyan added that Tehran and Moscow have agreed that Russian companies will also take over the reconstruction of some of the old power station.
A day earlier, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Iran Houshang Falahtian said that Russia will invest about $5 billion in the construction of new power facility in Iran. H.Falahtian said that Russian state-owned company "Inter RAO" and "Inter RAO export" and association "Tekhnopromexport" will supply the equipment and provide technical assistance in the construction of power plants.
The volume of bilateral Russian-Iranian trade in 2013 amounted to just over $5 billion. Both sides expect that contracts will provide a significant increase in bilateral trade in the coming years.
