Almaty. February 11. Silkroadnews - Russia lost its status as the world leader in oil production, informs the newspaper "Vedomosti".
"At the end of 2014 the US became the world's leading oil producer, ahead of Russia. During the year it has increased production by 1.5 million barrels/day to 11.81 million. Russia during this period increased production only by 50,000 barrels/day to 10.93 million",- says the publication.
3rd place keeps Saudi Arabia.
According to IEA forecasts, in the calculation of production are not taken into account gas condensate, which takes about 15% of total production of OPEC countries. Because of this, Saudi Arabia is the world leader in the production of liquid hydrocarbons.
According to the IEA, most of the growth in the US by 2020, will be in the shale oil (by 2020 it will grow to 5.2 million).
It also reported that Russia will reduce daily production by 560 thousand barrels by 2020.
