Russia to consider additional assistance to Afghanistan if requested

Almaty. May 19. Silkroadnews – Russia will consider the request of Afghanistan’s government for additional assistance if officially applied, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
“In case Kabul asks the Russian Federation for help, we will consider the options. This decision will be made by the President of the Russian Federation only”, “Izvestia” newspaper quoted the words by President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov.
Earlier the possibility of such a request was discussed in Moscow at the level of two states’ foreign ministries.
Kabul authorities have repeatedly stated they need help in fight against the Taliban movement.
