Russia will carry out maintenance of Kazakhstani helicopters Mi-26

Almaty. June 1. Silkroadnews – Russian aircraft repair plant № 405 will carry out maintenance of Kazakhstani helicopters Mi-26, KazTAG reports.

General director of aircraft repair plant №405 Konstantin Ushakov reported at the regional forum “Kazakhstani-Russian international cooperation in helicopters comprehensive service support in Kazakhstan” on Wednesday, during the forum it is expected to sign a memorandum on development of complex system of flight operating safety, including the service support.

“The memorandum will be signed by the Civil Aviation Committee and the aircraft repair plant № 405. In addition, at the upcoming KADEX-2016, we, together with the National Company “Kazakhstan Engineering” and “Helicopters of Russia” will also sign a roadmap on the joint projects, it shall cover various trends and provide the development of the service network in Kazakhstan to allow our operators receiving all the services they need of high quality and in the shortest time possible,” the head of the plant said.

He added, in Kazakhstan the company provides the service support of Mi-8, Mi-17, Ka-32. Maintenance of Mi-26T and Mi-35 is also under development.

“We do not plan to carry out overhaul of Mi-26, will carry out maintenance only, certification is scheduled for the end of 2016,” he said, “for Mi-24, Mi-35 – for the end of 2017”.

According to Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee, there are about 90 helicopters operated in Kazakhstan.
At the same time Yerlan Idrissov, chairman of the Board of JSC “Kazakhstan Engineering NC”, said within the framework of the international exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment KADEX-2016 it is planned to sign a road map for the next 10 years with the holding company “Russian Helicopters”.

He added the volume of export of components for the Russian helicopters ranges within 2-3 billion tenge per year.
“So far we do not have plans for the co-production (of helicopters with Russia – KazTAG). (...) with our partner – “Helicopters of Russia” we can discuss the sales to the third countries,” he says.

To remind the IV International exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment KADEX will be held in Astana on June 2-5.
