Russia will exempt vegetables and fruits delivered from Afghanistan from customs duties

Almaty. June 16. Silkroadnews – Representatives of Afghanistan chamber of commerce and industry (ACCI) stated the Russian government is ready to exempt the Afghan businessmen supplying fresh fruits and vegetables from the customs duties, Afghan news agency (AfTAG) reported.

According to the senior CCIA official Baz Mohammad, the Russian side is also ready to help Afghanistan with the construction of storage facilities equipped with refrigerators for Afghan agricultural products. He expressed confidence that Afghan businessmen from the northern provinces will be very happy to open new sales markets for fresh and dried fruits.

“This is a serious achievement for the Afghan economy,” the ACCI representative said.

It has been noted that during the Russian-Afghan economic forum held in Moscow on June 3 Afghanistan’s CCI Vice-President Khan Jan Alokozay on behalf of his country expressed readiness to begin delivery of fresh vegetables and fruits to Russia.
