Russia will help Kyrgyzstan to equip the new frontier posts

Almaty. April 27. Silkroadnews – Russia will help Kyrgyzstan to equip the new frontier posts, the chief of general staff, first deputy chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Zhyltyrov said, KyrTAG reports.

“We expect Russia to help us as we entered the Eurasian Economic Union. There will be new frontier posts organized, and new equipment will be delivered for the checkpoints,” B. Zhyltyrov said on Wednesday.

According to him, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) under support of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) provides the training for the border service personnel of Kyrgyzstan.
It was reported earlier that on April 27-28 Bishkek hosts the 12th Conference of the Central Asia Border Security Initiative meeting. The conference is organized by the European Union and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs of Austria in cooperation with the Border Management Programme in Central Asia with the support of the OSCE.

The meeting gathered more than 100 people working in the field of border security, migration and trade facilitation – the officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the EU member states – Austria, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and other countries, as well as from the international center for migration policy development, international organization for migration, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for refugees and the United Nations Office on drugs and crime.
