Almaty. October 7. Silkroadnews - Russia will strengthen the 201st military base in Tajikistan by helicopter gunships, reported RBC.
"To the base will be transferred Mi-24P and transport-combat Mi-8 MTV. Air Group will be based on the Aini airfield in Hissar district of Tajikistan - 30 km west of Dushanbe", - said in a statement referring to the official representative of the Central Military District Yaroslav Roshupkin.
Attack helicopters will be engaged in the transport of goods, to cover troop columns and plant a tactical assault, put minefields to evacuate the sick and wounded, to conduct air reconnaissance engineering.
As noted, on the eve at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Tajik leader Emomali Rakhmon raised the issue of security in the Collective Security Treaty Organization. He spoke about the difficult situation on the Tajik-Afghan border.
However, any agreement to increase the presence of Russian forces in Tajikistan between the presidents of the two countries after the meeting has been reached, said on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
