Russian base in Tajikistan carries out a planned rearming - Bordyuzha
Astana. February 12. Silkroadnews - CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said the Russian military base in Tajikistan passes though the rearming not the strengthening process.
“One thing I can say, both 201 Russian military base in Tajikistan and 102 base (in Armenia) are included in the rearming system currently taking place in the armed forces throughout the Russian Federation. The point in case is not about strengthening, it is about to equip the forces with the most modern weapons and ensure a sufficient level of combat readiness of the units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, thus, we are talking about a planned work,” - said Nikolay Bordyuzha during the multimedia press-conference on Friday.
At the same time, he noted that “measures on strengthening of any unit or the formation of the military forces to strengthen the combat readiness are carried out on a regular basis”.
“And I’m not saying that, e.g., base 102 is somehow grows its potential in an extraordinary manner. At least I’m not aware of such cases,” - CSTO Secretary General concluded.
