Sales of helicopters are growing in U.S. due to orders from China
Almaty. November 16. Silkroadnews - Sales of helicopters are growing in the U.S. due to orders from China, CNBC news portal reported.
“This year we have already received more than 200 orders from China alone. This is more than we have received for the rest of the world,” the agency quoted Patrick Moulay, executive vice president of global sales for Bell Helicopter.
Bell Helicopter now has three customer service bases located in China, including Shanghai’s KingWing General Aviation, General Aviation in Chongqing and the recently opened Aerochine Aviation in Zhenjiang.
It is explained that easing of the tight airspace rules in China in 2016 allowed civilians to fly at an altitude below three thousand meters. Following this, Bell Helicopter, Airbus Helicopters and Leonardo Helicopters have received big orders from China. In June, Bell signed a bumper contract for the sale of 100 407GXP helicopters to China’s Shaanxi Helicopter (SHC).
Moulay noted, despite some recovery in global sales of helicopters, the traditional big buyers from the oil and gas sector are still cautious. He said that customers have become more confident with the recent oil prices growth, yet it will be not less than two years before he expects a noticeable increase in sales.
