Saudi Arabia announced a breach of flight connection with Iran

Almaty. 5 January. Silkroadnews – According to media sources, on Monday the Civil Aviation Authority of Saudi Arabia stopped air service to Iran.
“Based on the Kingdom authorities’ statements on severance of diplomatic relations with Iran, the management stopped all flights to Iran and vice versa”, - media notes a statement by the department of aviation.
Earlier Adel Al-Jubeir, Head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, announced the plans to stop the air communication with Iran. In addition, Riyadh intends to break off all the commercial relations with Iran and introduce a ban on visits to Iran for the country subjects.
On Sunday, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Adel Al-Jubeir announced a severance of diplomatic relations with Iran due to “Iran’s open interference with the internal affairs of the Kingdom, enemy action in the region and the attack on the Embassy of the Kingdom in Tehran and Consulate in Mashhad”.
The incidents took place on Saturday as a part of protests against the decision of Saudi Arabia executed Nimr al-Nimr, a famous Shiite preacher.
