Second round of Presidential elections in Afghanistan to be held on June 14

Kabul. May 15. Silkroadnews – Secondv round of Presidential elections in Afghanistan to be held on June 14th, as AfTAG reports.
Independent electoral commission of Afghanistan published the final results of April 5th elections this Thursday. The results indicated none of the 8 candidates could secure absolute majority in the first round. 7 mln votes were cast. 64% of voters were men, 36% were women.
Abdullah Abdullah received 44% of votes. He is followed by Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai with 31.6%. the voters will have to choose between those two candidates now. The winning candidate will have to receive simple majority in the second round.
