Seitkazy Matayev has been elected chairman of board of Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan

Almaty. June 14. KazTAG - Seitkazy Matayev has been elected chairman of the board of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan at the reporting and election conference of the republican public association, KazTAG correspondent reported.
The journalist from all the regions took part in the conference through video communication. They discussed and approved the board’s report, determined plans and tasks for the forthcoming period.
S. Matayev has been elected a chairman of the board of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan.
The participants noted, over the recent time the union have been joined with many young journalists with active civic position. The union’s work on holding creative competitions, seminars, round tables, other events with the participation of the public have been marked, as well as strengthening of the international relations of Kazakhstani journalists with colleagues from China and Ukraine.
The participants of the conference also emphasized need for active participation in lawmaking, protection of journalists’ rights and freedoms, attentive attitude to veterans, and use of their experience to teach and train young specialists in journalism. They also discussed the plan of preparation for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the union to be held next year.
The Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan is the country’s biggest creative organization with nearly 5000 members among the employees of newspapers, television, radio and Internet publications and offices operating across all the regions of Kazakhstan, including Astana and Almaty.
