Almaty. November 29. Silkroadnews - Shenzhen officials must submit online application for weddings, funerals and banquets, Xinhua News Agency reported.
“Officials in the southern city of Shenzhen will have to apply to an online government system if they wish to hold wedding banquets or funerals,” the report said.
It is noted that from December 1, all city officials will have to apply for permission to hold banquets 10 days before the planned date of the event, the disciplinary inspection commission in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, said.
An online system developed by the commission is already working in the test mode.
Events for which applications will be submitted through the online system include wedding banquets, birthday parties, housewarming parties, promotions and banquets for employees, their spouses and close relatives.
Officials will have to fill in an online form, clearly specifying the place, time and number of attendants. Applicants must promise to have self-discipline and be thrifty. They must promise not to take gifts and money from their subordinates, and not use public funds to carry out events. Even with their own money, applicants must apply in a money-saving manner.
The commission stated, officials conducting funerals for their close relatives can report this directly or by phone. But they must fill out the online form within 15 days of the funeral.
According to the commission, anyone who does not meet new requirements will face severe punishment.
