Almaty. June 12. Silkroadnews - According to the entrepreneurs, built on the Kazakh-Chinese border free trade center "Khorgos" poses no threat to the existence of the Kyrgyz market "Dordoi", reports KyrTAG.
"When "Khorgos" was built, everyone said that "Dordoi" will die out. But "Dordoi" in 20 years of existence has gained a lot of stable and sustainable partner, not only in China but also established contacts with businessmen of South Korea and Turkey. As for our business, no one went from the "Dordoi" to "Khorgos" - said the president of the Kyrgyz Association of markets, trade and service industries Sergei Ponomarev.
He acknowledged that "Khorgos" after its opening took some entrepreneurs from China, because through this center it is easier to import goods to Kazakhstan and further to the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC). However, Chinese businessmen can easily send the goods as to "Khorgos" and to the "Dordoi", having the necessary potential output.
Entrepreneurs from Turkey and South Korea also continue to work through the "Dordoi", as the 20-year history of the market and the work gives some confidence to foreign entrepreneurs.
The head of the union "Dordoi" Damir Dolotalieva confirmed the word of S. Ponomarev. According to her, "Dordoi" continues to be one of the leading retail outlets in Central Asia, although "Khorgos" was created as an alternative to "Dordoi" to export Chinese goods to the region.
"We are 1.5 years threatened that with the expansion of "Khorgos" our "Dordoi" will cease to function. However, the "Khorgos" is not a threat, it works independently, it does not affect us", - added D. Dolotalieva.
Recall, the international center "Khorgos" is a two-way free trade zone on the Kazakh-Chinese border.
