Southern China activates emergency regime due to Typhoon

Almaty. August 1. Silkroadnews – Readiness for emergency response has been activated in the provinces of Hunan, Guangdong, Guizhou and Yunnan and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region due to Typhoon “Nida” approaching to the South China’s coast, TASS agency reports.

As noted, the local authorities have been urged to monitor the progress of the typhoon and timely inform the public about the situation changes. The China National Commission for Disaster Reduction has asked people in typhoon-affected areas to stock daily necessities for at least one to three days not to leave their homes during the typhoon passing.

The typhoon is expected to strike the province of Guangdong on Tuesday. Preliminary data says, the wind speed in a typhoon area could raise up to 38-45 m/s when making landfall.
