Special Forces will contribute to ensure security for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor
Almaty. February 4. Silkroadnews - Special forces will contribute to ensure security for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the information portal Chinanews reports.
“Islamabad will provide military forces to the amount of about 10 thousand people to ensure the security of the Chinese citizens and businesses along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor,” the publication says with reference to the Special Assistant to the Foreign Minister of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Tariq Fatemi.
It is noted that the decision on the special troops has been made in response to Beijing’s concern for the security of more than 14 thousand of their engineers and technical staff working on more than 200 projects.
It is reported that the China-Pakistan economic corridor is a project worth $46 billion financed by China at the expense of investment and directed to extend the infrastructure of Pakistan and link its southwestern port city of Gwadar with China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region through the network of traffic roads and railroads.
