Almaty. June 7. Silkroadnews – Starting from August Chinese citizens will be able to process electronic visa to Russia via Internet, “Izvestia” newspaper reports.
“From August 1 citizens of 18 countries will be able to process electronic visa to Russia via Internet. A new form for visas will be applied for the countries creating a tourist flow. Border crossing points in Vladivostok will be the first to start working with electronic visas. Now the Ministry of Communications modernizes the departmental segment of the state system of passport and visa documents of a new generation (“Мир” system)”, the article says.
So, starting from August 1, citizens of Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, India, Iran, Qatar, China, North Korea, Kuwait, Morocco, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey and Japan will be able to process electronic visas for Russia.
Experts believe that e-visas will be an exception to the rules, as will be applied to the countries mentioned and certain checkpoints only. At the same time, the electronic visa will not differ from the “paper one” with only difference that it will not have an embodiment on paper and its availability can be confirmed from the screen of a smartphone or other digital media with image visualization functions.
