Switzerland and the EBRD will allocate more than $18 million on water project in Tajikistan

Almaty. March 13. Silkroadnews - Over $18 million will allocate Switzerland and the EBRD on the water supply project in Tajikistan, says Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
The contribution of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the project will amount to more than $9 million. Project implementation period until 2018. $9 million will be provided on a grant basis by the Swiss Government
It is noted that the purpose of the project is to improve water supply systems for total population of 140 thousand people in the northern cities of Tajikistan and the city of Khorog.
Its main components are extra connections, installation of water meters, the acquisition of operational and maintenance equipment, construction of new water tanks, improving of municipal collection and treatment of waste water and more.
