Syrian armed opposition delegation arrived in Astana for talks

Almaty. July 4. Silkroadnews – Representatives of the Syrian armed opposition arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan to take part in the international meeting on the Syrian situation settlement, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday.
The statement was made by head of Kazakhstani foreign ministry’s press service Anuar Zhainakov on Tuesday.
“By the moment all the delegations taking part in the talks within the Astana process framework had arrived in Astana. Including representatives of the Syrian armed opposition”, A. Zhainakov said.
He also added, on July 4 the delegations are expected to hold talks in a bilateral format, while “the plenary meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow”.
Negotiations on Syria will be held in Astana on July 4-5. The major issue in the agenda is further arrangement of the parameters of the four de-escalation zones in the Syrian territory.
The talks have been preceded by consultations of representatives of the guarantors’ states - Russia, Turkey and Iran. Earlier, Russia’s special envoy to the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov noted that Moscow expects to adopt a set of documents on the zones of de-escalation in the Arab Republic.
