Tajik-Afghan border should be strengthened, said Rakhmon

Almaty. August 3. Silkroadnews - Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon said that the Tajik-Afghan border should be strengthened, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
In particular, the President noted that the situation on the border is normal and calm, but there are a number of internal and external factors, warning about the likelihood of changes in the situation on the border line.
"At the direction of the state border with Afghanistan, violating the situation factors are the increase of terrorist and extremist acts, smuggling of narcotics, weapons and the activities of organized criminal groups", - he said.
According to the President, all of the above factors require additional measures to strengthen the border, comprehensive training of military units in the event of changes in the situation.
He called on responsible personnel and local communities to work closely with law enforcement and military structures.
