Almaty. December 26. Silkroadnews - A citizen of Tajikistan, detained on a terrorist attack planned in St. Petersburg, appealed the detention, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday.
“A citizen of Tajikistan, Firuz Kalavurov, suspected on the terrorist attacked planned on the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg, appealed a measure of restraint in form of detention,” the Russian media reported with reference to the united press service of St. Petersburg courts.
According to the press service, the defense team believes the decision is a subject to cancellation due to serious violation and misuse of the criminal procedure and asks the court of appeal to cancel it, though the complaint has not yet been submitted to the St. Petersburg City Court.
“No other appeals against the decisions of the Smolninsky and Vyborg District Courts on preventive measures in the form of detention have not been received,” the report says.
To remind, on December 17 the Smolninsky court detained Shamil Omargadzhiev (a native of Dagestan) and Alishan Esmurziev (a native of Ingushetia), suspected of illegal trafficking in arms and ammunition, and a Tajik citizen, suspected of trafficking in explosives and explosive devices.
In total, according to the investigation, five people have been kept in custody on the terrorist attack planned for December 16.
