Tajik president and head of the Ministry of Finance of Switzerland discussed the strengthening of economic ties
Dushanbe. July 8. Silkroadnews - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and the head of the Federal Department of Finance of Switzerland Eveline Widmer-Shlyumpf discussed the strengthening of economic ties, says Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
"Switzerland is one of the main partners of Tajikistan in Europe. It was mentioned by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, adding that Tajikistan is interested in developing relations with this country"- says the publication.
The meeting was devoted to discussion of cooperation between two countries, with an emphasis on strengthening ties in the fields of economy, trade, investment and finance.
It was noted that during the years of independence of Tajikistan, Switzerland supported a lot of projects in Tajikistan. Up to date, the country is implementing 10 projects with Switzerland, totaling to $67 million
For 5 months of this year the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $141 million, which is 4.3 times more than the same period last year.
