Tajik President proposed to hold SCO conference on drugs in 2015 in Dushanbe

Dushanbe. September 12. SIlkroadnews - President Emomali Rahmon has offered to hold a conference of SCO on drugs in 2015 in Dushanbe, reports TajikTA.
According to the publication, Rahmon recalled that in 2016 the United Nations will convene a special session on the world drug problem. Taking into account Tajik experience in fight against the drugs president Rahmon proposed to hold in 2015 in Dushanbe SCO regional conference on drugs.
Speaking at a meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States, the President of Tajikistan stressed the role of the SCO member states in combating threats such as terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and weapons, noting that the RT will support regional anti-terrorist structure.
He urged the representatives of the member states and observer states to intensify opposition to these modern challenges, proposing to use in the fight against drugs, including past experience in Tajikistan.
According to the leader of Tajikistan, a year after the last summit of the SCO, the world situation has changed.
