Tajikistan aims to carry out extensive cooperation with the Islamic world countries on a number of directions – Rahmon

Almaty. August 2. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon addressed the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum in Indonesia.

“It is important to note there are four free economic zones established in Tajikistan. Within these areas we have provided the necessary economic, financial, trade and information conditions with special benefits arranged. We are ready to create all the necessary conditions for foreign entrepreneurs to operate actively within these areas and welcome the good intentions of the Islamic countries’ businessmen and companies in this part”, the press service quoted E. Rahmon saying.

The president added, there are also great opportunities for investments into development of the mining industry in Tajikistan. Thus, according to him, the country has identified and prepared for the development more than 600 natural ore and non-ore deposits.

“Out of this number about one hundred fields with approximately 40 kinds of minerals are being developed currently. We have all kinds of precious stones, metals and necessary raw materials, which development could become a platform for our mutually beneficial economic cooperation”, the president noted.

E. Rahmon also touched on the agricultural and tourism sectors’ potential.

“Our country has a favorable environmental conditions to develop horticulture and viticulture, cultivate the organic vegetables and fruits and other agricultural products. Light and food industries, including processing of cotton, fruits and vegetables, dried fruits with further exports may become a solid basis for the private sectors’ profitable cooperation”, he added.

According to the president, currently Tajikistan implements a program of infrastructure development of tourism and tourist services network. The country has sufficient resources to develop mountain climbing, mountain and eco-tourism, health tourism, that may be of interest for businessmen of Islamic countries, the head of Tajikistan believes.

“Being a supporter of a strong partnership with all the countries, including the countries of the Islamic world, the Republic of Tajikistan is aimed to establish a broad and practical cooperation with its partners on all the directions mentioned above”, he summarized.
