Tajikistan and Afghanistan to cooperate in investment, border control and legal areas

Dushanbe. March 27. Silkroadnews – Tajik President Emonali Rahmon and Afghan President Hamid Karzai signed a number of documents on cooperation in investment, border-control and legal areas in Kabul, as Tajik President’s Press Office reports.
The parties spoke in support of acceleration of cooperation the areas of energy, economy and trade. They specifically highlighted the necessity of such prominent regional projects as construction of the high voltage transmission line CASA-1000 as well as of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan railway.
The declaration of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic republic of Afghanistan on developing and strengthening bilateral relations was among the signed documents. The parties also signed intergovernmental agreements that aim to promote cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs. Other agreements encourage protection of mutual investments, cooperation in the field of arts and culture, audio production and publishing.
Moreover, Tajik governmental committee on TV and radio broadcasting and Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA) signed a joined memorandum.
